What Mat Color is Best For Your Walls?

Feb 11th 2015

When you're redecorating or rearranging your home, you try to maintain a cohesive design in each room. You pick the color palette, the accessories, and strive for the perfect atmosphere. If you're hanging new photographs or artwork on your walls, you want to make sure that you pick frame and mat colors that don't clash with the paint that's on the walls. At Matboard Plus, we have a variety of pre cut photo mats in various colors, giving you seemingly endless options for your home.

When choosing colors for your home, there are many choices before you. You can pick colors that are next to each other on the color wheel, such as red and orange, or you can pick colors that are opposite each other on the wheel, such as orange and blue. If you want more than two colors, you can select what's known as a "triadic color scheme," where you obviously choose three colors that form a triangle on the shape, i.e. purple, orange, and green. You could use two as your chief colors, and the third as an accent. Mixing in gray, black, or white also works well with bolder, more apparent colors.

Choose the perfect colors of pre cut photo mats at Matboard Plus, and your home redecorating will be a cinch. You'll have the right primary colors on your walls, and you won't clash with the other colors in the room. The accent colors will also work perfectly, and guests will enjoy sitting in your living or family room, spending time looking at your photos and artwork, as well as conversing with you.
