CARING FOR ACRYLIC/PLEXIGLASS
The most common issue with caring for acrylic is the use of incorrect cleaning solutions and wiping material. To get the maximum life out of your plexiglass, never, ever use cleaning solution that contains ammonia. Cleaners such as Windex or 409 will do more harm than good. Using products specifically recommended for cleaning acrylic, such as 20/20 Plasti-Clean, will help ensure a clean, scratch-free surface. Warm soapy water is also good.
Never use a dry cloth, paper towel or your hand to clean your acrylic. Doing this rubs the dirt and dust into the material more than it cleans it off. First, blow the dust or dirt off with air, or use water and a soft cloth to float the dirt off. Then use a recommended cleaner and a microfiber cloth or lint-free, soft paper wipes to complete the job.
